In our association, you will find a forum for exchange with students, researchers, and representatives from business and society. The TUM Association of Alumni and Friends offers an active, lively network in the midst of the TUM family.
If you are a member of the TUM Association of Alumni and Friends, you will be sent the TUM University Magazine and will be invited to exclusive events for members.
Membership fee
Membership fees are a minimum of
- 20 € students and for alumni within the first three years after graduation
- 70 € for individuals
- 500 € for legal persons, companies, or associations of individuals
- 1.500 € as a one-time fee for a lifetime membership (for individuals only)
Your membership fee is tax-deductible if you pay taxes in Germany.
The German tax authorities recognize the Freunde der TUM e.V. as a non-profit organization for the promotion of science and research (according to § 52 para. 2 sentence 1 no. 1 AO). Therefore, membership fees are tax deductible in Germany.

For annual contributions up to 300 €, we can issue a simplified grant proof (“vereinfachter Zuwendungsnachweis”). For this, please download the confirmation form to your computer and print it out. Then, submit the print to the tax authority (“Finanzamt”) together with a suitable bank certificate (for example a copy of the bank statement).
